Who We Are Looking For
Senior tunneling Consultant
Sonora, CA
Provost & Pritchard is looking for someone with interest in working on projects from inception and feasibility through design and construction.
The right person would have an entrepreneurship mindset and interested in both integrating into our current workload as well as sharing our vision for expansion.
The ideal candidate would have extensive tunneling/underground experience with design, construction and management at all levels of a project.
Associate Engineer
Sonora, CA
Provost & Pritchard is looking for a licensed and experienced Professional Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with 5 – 10 years of experience, preferably with a tunneling background.
This position may fill a variety of roles and responsibilities including design, construction management, calculations, data analysis, and consulting.
Our team works on wine cave tunnel complexes, private residential tunnels, small to medium water district tunnels and canals, tourist mines, and earth-retention structures.
About Our Caves & Tunnels Service Sector
Looking for a change? Our Caves & Tunnels team offers consultation and engineering services for tunnels and alternative underground structure design and construction. Our engineers and geologists have worked on teams with owners, architects, building structural engineers, and contractors on more than 350 cave and tunnel building projects across California; and have worked on a wide range of new tunnel design and construction projects over the past 30 years. One of the exciting projects our team is focused on is the final design of a 12,000 foot long tunnel for an irrigation district to replace several thousand-feet long canal and tunnel systems that are over 100 years old. The geologic hazards in the area present challenges for the district to be able to maintain the water commitments to their constituents and the preferred solution is what is referred to as the Canyon Tunnel. We anticipate final design to be completed at the end of 2023 and construction to begin in the spring of 2025.
Services provided by our Caves and Tunnels Team include:
- Site feasibility
- Consultation and preliminary schematic design
- Site subsurface investigations
- Geostructural engineering
- Design engineering for permitting and construction
- Engineering oversight/construction management
