Statement on the Passing of Twyla Capurro

CLOVIS, CA – We are heartbroken to confirm the death of Twyla Capurro on April 14, 2026. Twyla was a beloved friend and coworker and will be deeply missed. Her death occurred as a result of an in-tunnel rock fall at the Canyon Tunnel Project site, a shared project by the South San Joaquin Irrigation District and the Oakdale Irrigation District.

Our deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends, and all that had the opportunity to meet Twyla. This is an incredibly difficult time for our entire organization.
