Water Supply Well, Transmission Main, Water Distribution Improvements
Provost & Pritchard was responsible for preparation of the preliminary design report, funding application preparation, funding administration, rate analysis, design and construction review and administration of water system improvements for the Caruthers Community Services District. The project received funding assistance for the design from a Proposition 84 Feasibility Study Grant. Construction was funded by a Proposition 84 Construction Grant administered by the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water. The project included a test hole, property acquisition, a 1,200 gpm water supply well, well site improvements, master planning for arsenic treatment facilities, approximately 2,700 lineal feet of raw water transmission main between two well sites, approximately 1,670 lineal feet of 12-inch and 14-inch diameter water distribution system improvements, a 1.2 million gallon water storage tank, booster pumping facilities, and an extension of a sewer main for the District. The project included a new electrical service; new motor control center; standby power facilities; and, a pilot study for determination of a treatment system to reduce arsenic concentrations in the water supply to bring the district into compliance with the regulatory limits for arsenic.
